What are the different strengths of perfumes?

The concentration of perfume oil or essence determines the strength of a fragrance. Actually, Eau de Toilette and Eau de Cologne are generally interchangeable, particularly in Men's fragrances. After Shave has the least amount of oils. The higher the concentration of "essence" the longer your fragrance will last, and the less you need to apply. The Following table shows the different concentrations. However, it may vary depending on the brand and country.

Why does perfume contain alcohol?

The essential oils in the perfume need a certain amount of alcohol for it to emanate from the skin. Without alcohol no one would be able to smell the fragrance. You will be the only one to know that you have a perfume on, but even you will not be able to smell it.

SPLASH or SPRAY?

What is the difference between a splash and a spray?

There is absolutely no difference in the fragrance. The difference is in the application only. Some consumers find a spray less wasteful as you do not end up with as much fragrance on your hands or fingers.

Some consumers think that a spray is wasteful as much of the fragrance gets into the air. The truth of the matter is perfume is most effective when applied with a spray. The atomizer diffuses the alcohol and the essential oils cling to your skin. A spray bottle also, being ostensibly sealed all the time, will actually have a longer shelf life. Making the decision between spray and splash is entirely a matter of personal preference.
